About VelocityDC

The VelocityDC Dance Festival is a new annual event produced by a consortium of leading arts organizations in the Washington, DC region, including the Washington Performing Arts Society, the Shakespeare Theatre Company and Dance/MetroDC with major artistic partners The Washington Ballet and CityDance Ensemble and project partners Shugoll Research and Accolade Arts.

Modeled after the successful “Fall for Dance” festival in New York City, VelocityDC features world-class dance companies and artists presented in a fast-paced gala format, with dramatically reduced ticket prices. VelocityDC represents an exciting new direction in Dance presentation and dance audience development for the city, and marks the first such large-scale collaboration amongst DC dance leaders.

VelocityDC has been made possible through the generous support of the Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation, the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, and members of the VelocityDC Founders Circle. Capitol Hotels & Suites is the official hotel of VelocityDC.
